Free Recycling Centre visits

Come and have a tour around a real working recycling depot. Find out what happens to your recycling once it is collected from your homes.

A bespoke 'Recycle First' Education Centre has been created at the recycling depot in Winsford and is open to community groups and schools in West Cheshire.

If you would like to have a look around the depot, see the recycling vehicles in action and learn a little more about what materials get recycled into then book a free visit to the Recycle First Education centre.

Community groups and Schools

The centre is designed to accommodate schools and community groups of up to 25 people (classroom style) or 40 people (cinema style) for visitors aged 7 and over.

The aim of the centre is to teach residents about what happens to their recycling, why we need to recycle, how to reduce waste, home composting and to promote the ‘love food hate waste’ campaign.  Our overall goals are to reduce the amount of waste sent to land fill sites, increase the recycling rate in the area  and improve the quality of recycling material collected.

The Recycle First Education Centre has also been awarded the learning outside the class room quality badge.

More information on what is offered can be found in the download links on this page.
